Mr. Ford, Mr. Wayne, Mr. Montgomery

File this in the "did you know" folder. The New York Times web site has movie reviews from way back when. Just ran into their review for They Were Expendable, December 21, 1945. An interesting read:

"Each plays his part well. Robert Montgomery and John Wayne, however, are the most frequently and forcibly worked."

Check it out by clicking here.

While you're at it, check out the quick blurb for TWE on The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts web site.

And...there's a critique of TWE, by David M. Cross, over here.

I must admit, I have yet to watch this film all the way through.

I do get a big kick out of Bob saying "duffs" though.
