Courageous Lovers Share a Bed ...

Egads!  Married people sharing a bed!  It must be a pre-code movie to allow such goings-on.  Yes it is, Lovers Courageous (1932).

Naive me, I grew up thinking twin beds were part of a high society lifestyle ... well, I certainly did not know anyone who had them.

And a blow-up of Bob's face ... just in case you can't clearly read Bob's mind.

Watched this movie two days ago. This "scene" did NOT occur. She come to his bedroom and threatens to get in bed with him but that was as far as it went. In fact, he objects to her being there and seeing him in his P.J. lol Last scene he fully dressed enters her bedroom as she is "ill". They only VERBALLY agree to stay home and have a baby - THE END no "pre-code" in same bed scene in this movie - at least when it was shown by TCM

Anon - Good catch on the photo being of a scene that was evidently cut from the movie. TCM's listing of the movie is at 77', the same as the copy of the movie in the WB Montgomery Collection. In other words, the movie was cut back to 77' when originally shown on TV to fit in a 2-hr time frame with commercials, and the complete film was lost forever. Really frustrating. Maybe their being in bed with Bob's bedroom eyes was meant to be the last scene? Who knows. It is difficult to imagine Bob objecting to being seen in his pajamas. And a verbal agreement to have a baby ... hmmmm, yes, hardly pre-code worthy!
