This photo is stamped Dec., 1929. So, this is a quite young Mr. Montgomery modeling silk pajamas. I'm guessing he did not choose his outfit. Later he would wear silk dressing gowns on the set between takes. That was a classy look, besides being practical. This look, however, is, well ... words fail me. I would say he'd be great to cuddle up to in bed.

That is quite the collar on that shirt
The style is based on the traditional Russian Cossack top. Found this ad on Pinterest with a similar outfit except made of cotton broadcloth instead of silk. (That's Sears for you!)

Wonder what the colors were. Maybe a base color of white or light gold with red or purple accents? The mind boggles.....
