I almost missed this ad in the June, 1931 issue of Photoplay Magazine. Or should I more correctly say I almost missed Bob in this ad. I had never thought of Bob in a swimsuit ad. I can only imagine his reaction on finding out his assignment. Glad he relented.

I think that company is still in business, at least according to Wikipedia.
And I agree, I cannot imagine Bob or Joan necessarily being happy to do ads like that.
I just checked their online catalog. Unfortunately, they no longer make swimwear for Men. I'm sure there are a number of paunchy men who would feel more comfortable with a top in public!
