Bob died Sept., 1981, he is going on 76 when he gave this interview. Excellent interview, the interviewer just lets him chat on.

This is wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing!
Awesome article, thank you for sharing this! Haha I have a feeling that a miniseries about the making of TWE would be possible with the stories and dynamics :)
And I agree...an autobiography by Bob would have been amazing. Between his work, war, and family that would have been a heck of a read.
I'm so glad I've found this blog - a true pleasure to read. Thank you very much for sharing all this information (I only wonder how you find it!) I love both your devotion and a wonderful sense of humor. And I'd like to share a link to a Youtube video (in case you've never seen it) where Mr. Montgomery shares his views on television. https://youtu.be/ftCJXL0N_1s
He definitely seemed to have a good idea of where things were headed with media and politics
Agreed, Allison. He had a really good idea of what was ahead, one bright man our Bob. Good idea about the TWE miniseries. (An even better one would be on just Bob himself, a heck of a watch!)
Joan - Thank you for you very kind words. You've made me blush... And thanks for sharing the link. I had seen it before because Marlene, another Bob fan who enjoys researching all things Montgomery, just recently sent it to me. Really great seeing and hearing the older Bob.
You two newbies, may I introduce you to Debbie. Debbie has commented and contributed to this blog since before I signed on. You can certainly trust anything she adds to a conversation about Bob (and Bill Powell, and Myrna Loy, and Rosalind Russell...)
Oh awesome! I am going through the blog but from oldest to most recent but am only up to 2010. I am loving it! I am kicking myself for not discovering your blog years ago and not being able to see so many of those pictures. But the articles and tidbits are fun to read.
Allison - I did the same search when I discovered the blog. Carrie did the work of setting up the blog and doing it all from 2006 and into 2012. She talked me into helping her out when her work (and life) got in the way. There was a lot of interaction between Carrie and others who were new to blogging. A number of those blogs have gone away, but we're stubbornly staying around for a while.
Hopefully you all stick around for awhile yet! It is fun to discuss classic movies with people
