You're right, Robert - it is not John Wayne. And, yes, it is a small photo. Debbie, good guess. But I'm thinking it's Cyd Charisse since hubby Tony Martin is lighting her cigarette. So, Congrats, Anonymous, on IDing Martin. Now the photo of Irene Dunne ... did no one catch that she was talking to Doug Fairbanks, Jr.? (Or was my question confusing?)
Hi, ienna, thanks for dropping in on the blog. Can definitely see why one could think that's Joan or Agnes, particularly with the hairstyle. Wish our format could handle horizontal photos better, they're just too small. The photo, taken in the, I'm guessing, early to mid-60s shows the woman to be much younger than Joan or Agnes would have been then. Besides, I'll bet one of the many reasons Cyd and Tony had a successful 60-year marriage was Tony's not flying around with Joan!
Hmm, it's not Joan – she wasn't fond of flying, and do you really think she'd be sat in with the hoi polloi. And if it's Cyd, why isn't she sitting next to her husband, instead of across the aisle?

The photo is kind of small, but is that John Wayne in a suit lighting her cigarette? Nah!
The woman looks like Slim Hawks.
It's Tony Martin - singer/actor

Don't think it's Cyd Charisse opposite Tony Martin. More like Joan Crawford or Agnes Moorehead.
