I don't. Don't really think of They Were Expendable (1945) as having songs in it. "To the End of the End of the World" ... doesn't sound like a song you would be humming as you left the theater! Whatever, it does make for a nifty music sheet cover.
By the way, a copy is available on eBay for only $194.95 ... My copy cost $4.95. Wow, did I ever save money!

Kathy, I think this "song" was probably words put to music that were not in the movie --- just musical score in the background. They very often set words to a continuous background score, eg. Green Dolphin Street, Laura, Duel in the Sun, etc. Probably made the sheet music more saleable even tho the song was never SUNG in the movie itself. I have looked all over the web and can not find an image copy of notes or even your copy. If so, I could play it on the piano and unlock the "musical mystery" The cover picture of Mr Montgomery, however, is worth the price!!! Forget the music lol
I'm going to have to re-watch TWE and pay particular attention to Mr. Stothart's musical score.
His contributions to Wizard Oz and many MGM pictures are considerable.
Earl K. Brent had been at MGM for years as well.
Okay, you two music aficionados, bare with me. Marlene, I'll track down my music sheet and send you a copy of the score, so you can make your neighbors wonder about the strange music you're playing. And ANON, thanks for the info re the musicians. The score is quite good, can be very stirring. Really makes the final sequence. Yes, you should re-watch TWE, gets better with each viewing. I've already pulled out my copy to check about the song, and guess what, the song is actually sung during the opening credits! And the music is the major theme of the score, you'll know it as soon as you hear it. Too much. Another reason to watch Bob's movies more, there's always something new to appreciate.
Always loved the music and wondered how to get a recording of it in some form
