Architectural Digest - May 2010

The May issue of AD includes Leading Ladies at Home, or as they describe it: "Beauty, talent and a sense of style—AD celebrates 10 silver screen legends memorably captured in the privacy of home." On quick glance, the online slideshow accompanying the article includes Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard, and more. A separate article on Ronald Reagan is also included.

I'm just wondering if this a modification of they're yearly Hollywood at Home issue or if that was in the April issue.

If you are interested in RM's movie posters, lobby cards or photos, there is a site heritageauctions.com that archives all their previous sale lots. Very interesting stuff.

Yep, that's a great resource. I've been through there a number of times!

I started reading "Stars In Blue" last night. Our Bob was not just a pretty face. Even more impressed with the man than ever. A very good read. So much great information on so many people. Thanks so much for the book suggestion.

Got the 92 Architecual Digest last night. Very interesting stuff. Had seen most of the RM pictures, but was very interested in the one with the polo pictures on the wall. I knew he had at least two polo ponies. Anyone know anything about them, or the springer spaniels he had? I read he judged field trials. I share his love of horses and dogs.

Hey......I have an idea for a discussion. Of all of RM's leading ladies, who do you think was his best and why. I'll tell you my favorite later.

Debbie: Haven't seen anything on polo or the dogs. I'm willing to bet the old fan magazines would be a treasure trove.

Reg'd leading ladies: Ohboy, you're going to make me think now.... :0)

The Elizabeth Montgomery biography said that (according to Elizabeth) he had two polo ponies. One named Playboy, I think that is the white or gray gelding seen in alot of pictures. He also had a mare named Betty, after his wife. According to Elizabeth, the two Betty's hated each other. LOL She also said she was allowed to ride Playboy, but was not allowed to play Polo. Her dad thought it was too dangerous.
