As Christmas and the holidays come closer, it's my duty as blogger to offer some gift recommendations. Today, via the
Lana Turner Estate Property store on ebay:
Sorry,
Johnny Eager wasn't up for auction as of this posting (or I missed the bidding. Darn...where's "Buy it now" when you need it.)

Oh wow, the cigarette case is gorgeous! And it's from Tyrone!
May Co. - wow, I was little when that department store was still around!
I've heard of Gimbels, but never May - mustn't have been around here.
There's a hobby - collecting celeb. credit cards!
I have a huge memorabilia collection, mostly Tyrone Power stuff that I started collecting in childhood. It's going to be displayed in NYC next November and in Rochester, NY two weeks before the showing of Nightmare Alley in January. A friend of mine recently used Power's cutaway coat and a pair of his cufflinks as part of an outfit he wore to an opening night party.
If Lana had given TY that cigarette case, I might have bought it, or tried to.
I forgot to mention - I LOVE Robert Montgomery, and I never miss one of his films on TCM.
One of my best friends worked for Elizabeth Montgomery's manager and knew her well. He once found a discarded draft of a letter she wrote to her father...
Hello Mrs. R. - thanks for stopping by and dropping us a note!
Your Tyrone Power collection sounds very interesting (and fun!) - any specifics you can share on the display next November?
I have TONS of Ty Power memorabilia: photos including autographed photos, candid photos stills, a coat, a cutaway coat, a robe, cufflinks, gloves, a straight razor, a Christmas card he sent the last year he was alive, autographed programs from plays and appearances, personal letters, a copy of the book The Razor's Edge signed by the entire cast, a signed menu from the Brown Derby (many stars), a book he owned with his bookplate in it, contracts, the will, a penthouse lease, personal photos from a friend's scrapbook, paper dolls of Tyrone and Linda Darnell in Zorro, some magazine covers (I no longer collect movie magazines or lobby cards - but I do have one or two from his films).
