If you're looking for a little something for yourself, buy this off of ebay. I've bought photos from this seller and he's top notch. The beauty of these photos are the way they're processed: thicker paper with a a beautiful sheen (read the description, it's better than I could write).

Nice pics. Love Montgomery. One of the most underrated of the old Hollywood giants.
Thanks for stopping by - I just started reading your Classic Movie Man blog...looks like some good reading I need to catch up on.
Hi Carrie,
I suppose you've always got an eye on RM's stuff on Ebay. I've noticed that some of these 'original', 'rare' shots appear over and over again. I'm thinking of the gorgeous shot of him and the tennis net....Sigh, I just saw it on there again last week. I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to gauge the authenticity of any of the images...any clues to look for? Thanks:)
BTW, I too, enjoyed Franchot Tone. That was a first for me. Have to see more of him!
Hi Missy,
Do you have the address of that tennis shot on ebay? I'd like to see which one you're describing.
Authenticity? Hmm...a combination of things I'd say: seller track record (what other items does he/she have for sale), whether you've seen the photo before, seller description, gut feel!
Many sellers who sell reproductions sell in bulk - so if you look at their auctions, you'll see more.
Some real popular photos you see over and over again and are the ones reproduced.
Sometimes a reprint isn't a problem - this RM photo is a perfect example. These are printed by Hurrell's biographer just as Hurrell did.
Some photos are so darn rare or pricey that a reprint is nice!
Thanks for the tips!
I just checked for it and I think that one's gone again. I know you've seen it cuz I seem to remember you posting it on your present site or Night Must Fall...
It's the one of him jumping the tennis net.
Anyway, I will send it to you Monday; it's saved on the my office computer.
I think I might know the one you're talking about - is he in a white vneck sweater?
Yep; knew ya knew it :)
