My New Music Love

Ted Weems & his Orchestra. The best part...his stuff can be found in MP3 format on Amazon. This song is guaranteed to get stuck in your head for the next hour.

  1. Fantastic!
Ted Weems' was one of the best bands that ever existed. I prefer their earlier material. It's even spunkier than this rhumba number.

  2. If you have any album recommendations for a beginner, let me know! It looks like what is readily available on MP3 is "greatest hits" type collections.

  3. I did not realize how old this song is, I've only heard the Pasty Cline version-

    Heartaches, heartaches,
My loving you meant only heartaches.
Your kiss was such a sacred thing to me,
    I can't believe it's just a burning memory.

    Heartaches, heartaches,
What does it matter how my heart breaks?
I should be happy with some one new,
But my heart aches for you.

Love this version, too. They just don't whistle like that anymore, it's almost a lost art.

  5. Recommendations on Ted Weems:
There's an album on the Jasmine label with his 24 greatest recordings all done around 1930. It's called From Saturday Night 'til Monday Morning.

If you want to dig a bit deeper there's the double album The Essential Ted Weems on the RTR label with 50 recordings from 1923-30.

Go for one of the two as you find most of the tracks on the single CD included in the 50 track set.
