*swoon* ;)

Love the photo, though I thought the film was rather dry.

Audrey - yeah, some of his early movies are a bit blah. I haven't watched this one in forever...I may need to pop it in the DVD player!

Yes, another great photo. I'm recently retired and able to spend glorious hours reading about classic movies and particularly Robert Montgomery. Just finished going through your entire site, it has been a pure joy. Thank you ever so much for all the great photos, tidbits, etc. If only he hadn't died before doing his biography, such an interesting man.

Gotta ask, do you know anything about the pinkie ring he wore? He seems to start wearing it in the mid 30's and on into the 50's at least, so not a wedding ring - as in I don't believe Buffy would have accepted his wearing the wedding ring from his first marriage. Just curious, and you seem to be the best bet for an explanation!

OMG....I just watched this again today! lol..Not his greatest, but worth watching just to look at him. So handsome!

Love this pic! I liked the movie, too. :)

Best wishes,

The pinkie was a signet with his family crest. After his death, his daughter Elizabeth wore his signet and her mother's wedding ring together on a chain.

Thanks Debbie. I didn't have any details before.

Thanks! You've added to my joy of discovering everything Montgomery.

Fascinating man. Have not found out anything that disappoints. And gorgeous, too!

Where did you find this on DVD? I've checked amazon and oldies.com, and did a random google search....no dice anywhere. :/

cokaru: I made a copy of the movie off of my DVR. They show it on TCM here and there. I wouldn't doubt if the Warner Collection puts it out on DVD one of these days.
