Hollywood Pics: Part One

Just off of Hollywood Blvd., Above the door it notes "Max Factor"

Hooray for...it's the sign in the fog, way in the distance...

Great architecture on a building I don't know the name

Update: We've got an ID thanks to la peregrina! It's the Pacific-Southwest Trust and Savings building, now known as the Hollywood First National Bank

Coming next, Grauman's

I'm so glad you got to visit! I've not spent much time in Hollywood in the last 20 years or so but I made many visits as a teen, collecting movie stills at Collectors and Larry Edmunds stores and eating ice cream at the now-defunct C.C. Brown's. It got pretty seedy but was still fun (grin).

Looking forward to more of your photos!

Best wishes,
Laura

Carrie,

Keep the photos coming.

That building you can not identify is the Pacific-Southwest Trust and Savings building, now known as the Hollywood First National Bank building. It was built in either 1927 or 1928 and was either the tallest building in Hollywood or the second tallest building Hollywood at the time- depends on which article you read.

Did you try to steal John Wayne's footprints like Lucy? :P

It's kinda sad how many people visit Grauman's and have no clue who the majority of those amazing folks are.

Stelly: The airlines are so anal with luggage and extra fees these days, taking home Wayne's star would be cost prohibitive :0)
