Always a Confirmed Badger...

It's Halloween week and I'm trying to "scare" up some non-monster, classic themed items for the blog this week (not a big monster fan - but space aliens...).

Today: Orson Welles, War of the Worlds, and his Wisconsin roots in this article from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

War of the Worlds, the original, is playing on SIRIUS this week, last I read, along with other good H'ween fun.

Ooooh, I can't wait for the airing of the broadcast - fun to close your eyes and imagine what it must've been like, all those years ago, when people were scared out of their wits! Simply brilliant!!

Thanks so much for the article - such an interesting read, so great to see what Orson's feelings were, regarding his home town. I guess the reason why he didn't really like Kenosha was because of the memories he had there. I really recommend Simon Callow's biographies of Orson, just to understand how the events of his childhood shaped him into what he became.

I should drive over there and get some pics of the house one of these days.
